Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 large eggs
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted and cooled
- 1/4 cup dark rum
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1 pound large apples peeled, cored, and chopped into half-inch cubes, divided
- powdered sugar, for dusting
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Grease a 9-inch springform pan and line it with parchment paper.
- Sift together flour, baking powder, and salt in a medium bowl.
- Beat eggs in a separate large bowl. Beat in the sugar, melted butter, rum, and vanilla.
- Gently mix in the dry mixture just until combined. Fold in half of the apples.
- Pour batter into the prepared pan. Arrange the remaining apple slices evenly on top. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
