Ingredients

  • 100% Pomegranate Juice: Such as POM. Its vibrant red color is essential for the drink’s look. Plus, it’s full of antioxidants and has a rich, tart flavor.

  • Fresh Orange & Lime Juice: Forget the bottled stuff. Get some fruit and juice them yourself for the best flavor.

  • Sparkling Water: For the bubbles and a “mixed drink” feel. If you like it sweeter, use lemon-lime soda or ginger ale instead.

  • Garnishes: I love the look of pomegranate seeds, lime wheels, and fresh rosemary. They give the drink such a festive look.

How to Make a Pomegranate Sparkler

Like most mocktail recipes , this one is easy peasy, lemon squeezy.

It really boils down to just a few key steps:

  1. HALF-FILL two tall glasses with ice. 2. ADD the pomegranate, orange, and lime juices to a shaker and stir until well combined. 3. POUR the drink over the ice and top up with the sparkling water. 4. GARNISH , serve, and enjoy!

Tips for the Best Pomegranate Sparkler

Recipes this simple don’t need a lot of tips, so I only have five:

  • Stick to 100% pomegranate juice. Doing so will keep the drink light, crisp, and relatively healthy. Anything other than 100% juice may include extra sugar and other additives.

  • Freshly squeezed is best. Grab an orange and a lime, and squeeze the juice yourself. There really is no substitute.

  • Make it ahead. Mix the juices and chill until ready to use. Wait to add the bubbles until serving.

  • Make it a party. You can easily increase the recipe and serve it in a pitcher. Remember: the bubbles will flatten as it sits, so don’t make it too far in advance.

  • Experiment! Try this drink with citrus-flavored sparkling water or other varieties, muddle a few mint leaves into the shaker, or try grapefruit juice.
